Japanese brand Ambush started life as a side project for Yoon Ahn and her husband/business partner Verbal. A finalist at last year’s LVMH prize for young designers, Yoon has already collaborated with fashion heavyweights like Nigo, sacai and Jun Takahashi. Whilst you may be familiar with Ambush’s purposefully ironic jewellery—think security tag pins and silver pen cap pendants—Yoon’s second foray into a full apparel collection is one for all the eighties cinephiles. For a collection Inspired by John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club, Ambush has toyed with classics like the track jacket, varsity bomber, and trench coat to reinterpret some of high-school’s most recognisable archetypes.
